Why Electrolysis?

02

Who is Electrolysis for?

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. With a history dating back to 1875, it has stood the test of time as a safe and reliable solution. This proven technique involves inserting a small, sterile probe into the hair follicle and applying a controlled electrical current to destroy the cells responsible for growth. The treated hair is then gently removed with sterile tweezers, and the follicle is permanently disabled, preventing new hair from growing.

There have been no reported cases of disease transmission from electrolysis treatments, underscoring its safety and dependability for achieving smooth, hair-free skin.

Electrolysis is a highly effective method of permanent hair removal suitable for individuals of all hair colors, textures, and thicknesses, as well as all skin tones and ages.

Common treatment areas include:

  • Face: upper lip, chin, cheeks, jawline, neck, ears, eyebrows, scalp, and hairlines

  • Upper body: arms, underarms, breasts, and abdomen

  • Lower body: back, legs, fingers, toes, and bikini area

By targeting and destroying hair follicles, electrolysis prevents future hair growth, offering a permanent solution to unwanted hair across various body parts.

Expected results

In addition to achieving long-lasting hair removal, electrolysis is highly effective in addressing ingrown hairs. By targeting and eliminating the problematic follicles, it not only removes the current ingrown hairs but also prevents future occurrences, promoting healthier and smoother skin.

With consistent sessions tailored to your hair growth cycle, you can expect gradual yet noticeable progress, resulting in a permanent reduction of hair over time. Your skin will heal naturally, regaining its normal appearance while benefiting from the lasting effects of this proven treatment.

About

Care Information

Before Treatment

  • Ensure the hair in the treatment area is long enough for the electrologist to grasp with tweezers, typically 1/16 to 1/8 inch

  • Be aware that sensitivity may increase during or immediately before your menstrual cycle; consider scheduling treatments outside this period

  • Minimize stress on the day of your appointment

  • To minimize discomfort during your session, avoid consuming stimulants such as caffeine, chocolate, or sugar on the day of your appointment

After Treatment

  • Gently blot the treated area with an antiseptic, such as Sea Breeze

  • Refrain from vigorous exercise for two days post-treatment

  • Wait three to five days before using hot tubs, saunas, or pools

  • If you are unable to attend your next treatment as scheduled, avoid tweezing the hairs. Instead, trim them with small scissors. Tweezing can interfere with the effectiveness of future treatments

  • Some regrowth is normal. Scheduling your next appointment at the first sign of regrowth allows for more effective treatment, as the hair roots are shorter and weaker
